Congratulations to our 2017-18 Scholarship Recipients!

Prosper Cross Country Booster Club has awarded four $1,000 scholarships to senior athletes who showed superior achievement and leadership in cross country during their high school careers. The recipients for 2017-18 are Emily Patterson, Kendall Rose, Sam Rizzo and Peyton Lammons.

 

Emily ran at the UIL 5A State Cross Country Meet all four years, running as an individual state qualifier her senior year and placing 24th overall.  She served as a team captain, was all-district three times and all-region twice. She finished her high school cross country career ranked 20th of all seniors in the state. She will continue her running career with an athletic scholarship at Duquesne University. 

 

Kendall ran at the UIL 5A State Cross Country Meet three out of four years of her high school career. In 2015, she was an individual qualifier finishing 2nd at region and 13th overall at state. She served as a team captain, was all-district three times, and all-region once. She finished her senior year ranked in the top 100 of senior girls in the state. Kendall will be attending Texas A&M University.

 

Sam ran at the UIL 5A State Cross Country Meet three out of four years, three times as an individual qualifier finishing 15th place overall in 2015. His senior year as captain, battling a devastating hip injury, he led the boys’ team to state for the first time in Prosper High School history. He was an all-district runner three times, and all-region once. Sam will be attending the University of Texas in Austin.

 

Peyton ran at the UIL 5A State Cross Country Meet three out of her four years, with a 67th place finish overall in 2014.  She has also overcome injury and adversity to continue running successfully all four years of high school, and finished her high school career ranked in the top 100 senior girls in the state. She will be continuing her running career with an athletic scholarship at Our Lady of the Lake University.
